The right candidate would be: committed to growth, dedicated to education, passionate about learning, and creative and industrious. A Horizon teacher or tutor must be energetic, responsible, caring, and embracing of the American teaching style. Teachers work in a multicultural environment and therefore must have strong communication skills.

Chinese tutors to teach English must hold a TEM 8 English qualification and have finished a four year Bachelor's degree program.

A foreign teacher must hold at least a BA/BS degree from an accredited institution and a TESOL/TEOFL certificate. Teaching experience is preferred.
