Therefore, our Horizon English adult program offers adult English learners a flexible, comprehensive study program for all levels of adult learners, from those with no English base, to our highest professional business English program.
You are never too old to learn. You can teach an old dog new tricks!
Study Method:
The heart of our adult study program is our unique GEEKTM Study Method. Designed to methodically improve your English skills, GEEKTM Study Method has been embraced by our staff and students as a practical, effective way to improve your English skills.
G - Gain Knowledge - learn grammar, vocabulary, and core English skills in a small intimate Knowledge class, with a maximum of 4  students.
E - Experience Situations - have a chance to use the knowledge you have learned in a class designed to put you in an English speaking situation with role-plays and activities. Our Application classes to experience English have a maximum of 8 students, but will be opened even if only one student books it!
E - Expand - Expand your skills - With skills targeted classes, such as pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, slang, listening, and reading, you can improve your weaknesses and further develop your strengths. We have special classes and don't need to be booked every night to expand skills that , you can just come and enjoy.
K - Keep - Continue using and practicing English - In our Horizon Club, with a pool table, and coffee bar, you can come to English Corner in the afternoon or evening, just to chat with our foreign teachers and participate in discussions and conversations to further develop your oral English.

Course Levels and Materials:
The Horizon English School has 10 adult course levels - from zero English knowledge, to professional Business English. Upon coming to the school, our teacher with give you a computer based English skills test, as well as an oral English test. The test will be evaluated and we will suggest which Horizon level you should begin your study in. The time to finish each level depends on the study program you select. Students can choose study time by level, in which one level will take four months to finish, or for students who are very dedicated and committed to their English study, they can study our Accelerated program, where they choose their study by time, and study at a faster pace. In the first four levels students study with our custom Horizon made textbooks. These books are specifically designed to complement our unique GEEKTM study program. After the fourth level students can choose to continue with Life English or they can move to our Business English program. In the Life English program students study Pearson Longman'Summit'Textbooks. In the Business Program students study Pearson Longman 'Intelligent Business' The Pearson Longman textbooks are imported from the USA and are a wonderful addition to our Horizon program.

Business English
After finishing the fourth Horizon core level, students can choose to continue with general/life English, or can choose to specialize in Business English. Horizon's Business English program imports the 'Intelligent Business' series by Pearson Longman Education Company from the USA. The 'Intelligent Business' series is a comprehensive textbook and multimedia program. Each unit has a general business theme as well as a focus on career skills, with language points as well as broader topics such as ethics and corporate responsibility. All 'Intelligent Business' classes are taught by a native English speaker, many of which have true trade and business experience. At Horizon we integrate 'Intelligent Business' into our GEEKTM Study Method by opening special Business English classes with industry specific language points from the area's dominant industries, such as leather, warp knitting, and solar energy. With a large number of students seeking to improve and expand their business knowledge, Horizon is a great community to make new business friends, diversify your trade knowledge, and develop new contacts.

Class Booking:
To book a class a student must have a 'PASS CARD'. A student can earn this card by finishing their written homework (when necessary) and complete an oral check, which is an oral test about the materials a student studied in their previous class. Our 'PASS CARD' and oral check system ensure that our students don't simply attend classes. To finish the homework, students must retain and review the material learned during class. Student must be able to speak and comprehend to pass the oral check which ensures students improve their oral English.
Students must book a class one day in advance. Once a single student has booked the class, Horizon will open it. Any other student can join that class up until five minutes before the class begins. Students can book class, by internet (QQ or MSN), by phone, or in person. Every adult student has a personal tutor who will help them stay on top of their class schedule and open classes for them as needed. The tutor's role is that of a coach and mentor. They will offer encouragement and assistance when necessary, but also push a student to work hard and succeed in their studies!

VIP Program:
The VIP Program is for those adult students who want a custom tailor made curriculum, their classes one on one with a teacher, and flexible booking options. Horizon meets these requests and surpasses them. Our VIP Program is unbeatable. Classes can be arranged with only two hours advance notice, and because all classes are one on one, a VIP student can select study material that meets their specific requirements, including industry specific English.
